Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Gules, on a fess Or, two fleurs-de-lis Sable, in pale overall a tower Argent fimbriated of the second, door of the third and windows of the second.  Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Gold scroll inscribed JAMAIS DERRIERE in Black letters.

Symbolism
The colors red and yellow are used for Artillery.  The yellow fess and black fleurs-de-lis represent the campaign honors awarded the organization for service during World War II.  The white tower, taken from the castle which appears on the arms of Antwerp, symbolizes the defense of that city for which the Battalion was cited and decorated.  The motto translates to Never Behind.

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 19 November 1953.
